The Express Finish 4-0 and Win Championship at Binghamton Tourney

Elmira Lady Express 16/17 National team traveled to Binghamton, New York over the weekend to compete in the STNY Flyers AAU Tournament. The Lady Express finished 4-0 winning their division.

The Lady Express played Clarks Flyers in the first game Saturday. Clarks Flyers were a senior team made up of a solid group of players going on to play college basketball. Behind 22-19 at the half, the Lady Express put it in high gear in the second half and outscored their opponets 33-17, for a final score of 52-39.

The second game Saturday pitted the host STNY Flyers National team against the Lady Express. The Flyers have had a lot of success up and down the Eastern Seaboard. The Lady Express handled the full court trapping and went on to a 53-42 win and hit 6-3's for the contest.

Sunday morning the Lady Express had a rematch with a very physical Rochester Warriors team and the Lady Express came out on fire and never looked back. Again the Lady express was shooting lites out with 6 more 3's; and went on to a comfortable win 54-24.

In the Championship game the Lady Express were playing the Syracuse Stars. In a very well played, hard fought game, the Lady Express prevailed with a 49-36 victory for the Championship.

Next up for the 16/17 National team is the always tough Gym Rat Challenge in Albany, New York.
